Food Revolution

If you need further proof that the U.S. public education food system needs to be rethought, check out this video.

Renowned British Chef Jamie Oliver encounters some first grade students in Huntington, West Virginia, who cannot identify common fruits and vegetables such as tomatoes, eggplant, and cauliflower.

The video comes from Jamie Oliver’s new ABC show, Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution.

Prior to starting his campaign in the U.S., Oliver worked in the U.K. to transform school lunches and snacks (and really pissed off corporate execs there, who didn’t care a whit about students’ health, as demonstrated by their bitter complaints and nasty threats to the U.K. government because of their lost profits due to the decline in snack food sales!).
